Milano Film Festival is an esterni production since 1996, part of an Associazione APRILE,social and cultural project operating in Milan and in Europe for 25 years promoting the aggregation and rediscovery of the community dimension through the revaluation of public spaces and the involvement of different aspects of culture, art and the most effective and innovative communication tools.

We have been offering a wide and multifaceted programme since our first edition thanks to ricerca continuous research and constant synergiessinergie with public and private entities around the world.
With the mission of promoting and supporting Italian and international independent cinema, young authors under 40 and newcomers, and the workers revolving around the audiovisual industry, we offer short and feature films in original language from all over the world, with Italian and English subtitles, and a rich programme of screenings, master classes, workshops, meetings, and crossover events between the various arts.
Our dream is to train critical spectators capable of interpreting viewing as a moment of sharing and of rediscovering the aggregative dimension of going to the cinema, as well as making Milan the international hub of audiovisuals.
The Artistic Direction of Milano Film Festival has been entrusted to Oscar winner Gabriele Salvatores since 2018, assisted by the journalist Alessandro Beretta, who has been directing the event since 2011.
Milano Film Festival – supported by Comune di Milano, Regione Lombardia and MiC – is a founding member of Milano Film Network (MFN).
It was awarded the prestigious civic certificate of the Ambrogino d’Oro in 2015 and was selected for the ADI Design Index 2017 in 2016 and participated in the 25th edition of the Compasso d’Oro Award.
